Vegas Showing 2016 Rangers Some Love

As soon as the Kansas City Royals wrapped up the World Series in five games on Sunday night, the folks in Las Vegas were already coming up with futures odds on winning the 2016 World Series, and your Texas Rangers figured prominently into the mix.

The Rangers, who were near the bottom of the league in terms of 2015 World Series odds at this time a year ago after losing nearly 100 games in 2014, are set at 14-1 odds to win the entire thing by Bovada sportsbook. Those odds put them tied with Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates and are good for eighth in baseball and third in the American League behind the Royals (12-1) and Toronto Blue Jays (12-1). The overall favorite is set at 10-1 with the Chicago Cubs.

Another book, Westgate Las Vegas, has the Rangers at 12-1 and the overall favorite as the Los Angeles Dodgers at 8-1.

Everyone can agree on one thing, and that's the Philadelphia Phillies being the longest shot to win the title at 200-1.
