There is Some Good Rangers News, Right, Elvis?

Like me, you’re looking for some positive Rangers’ news.

How about this: Elvis Andrus looks like Elvis Andrus.

Maybe it was these weird Zombie Apocalypse oxygen masks he trained with in the offseason. Or maybe he just wanted to get the bad taste from 2014 out of his mouth.

Whatever the reason, so far so good.

With pitchers (Yu Darvish) and second baseman (Jurickson Profar) falling all around him, the former All-Star shortstop is off to a hot spring start. If the Rangers are to salvage anything from March – or the season – it’s pertinent that Elvis is one of their team leaders and best players.

After hitting only .263 last year, he leads Texas this spring training with a .444 average. It’s way early, but eight hits and two doubles in 18 at-bats is at least something to chirp about.

And, um, yeah, don’t worry about his two errors in Tuesday’s tie with the Dodgers. Focus on the three hits.
