There is Hope Rangers Fans: Joey. Gallo.

The Rangers lost 95 games. Their manager up and quit. They’re 50/1 long-shots to sniff the 2015 World Series. It’s raining and dreary and you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping and …

Let’s take your baseball Bah Humbug and smack it 419 feet, courtesy of the bright future of the Rangers. Remember, Joey Gallo?

Unless something goes wickedly awry, Gallo will at some point be called up to Arlington next summer. And all signs point to him - sooner rather than later - being Texas’ Giancarlo Stanton. See, there’s your light at the end of the tunnel.

Gallo, only 21, is 6 foot 5, 205 pounds of pure baseball power. He was named MVP of last summer’s All-Star Futures Game and is considered by some experts to be the No. 1 prospect in all of minor league baseball.

In fact, you can debate that Gallo’s first three pro seasons have been more prodigious than even Stanton’s. He’s got that raw, easy, left-handed power they make movies about. And hang the hopes of franchise's on.

Gallo can play both first and third base, where he’s blocked by Adrian Beltre and Prince Fielder. But with a glaring need for a left-fielder and a designated hitter, let’s squint a little today and see the optimism that is Gallo coming to a Rangers’ lineup in some fashion next summer.
