Ron Washington Leaves Surprise

Washington will be at home in New Orleans for the next couple days to attend to a family emergency

Rangers’ manager Ron Washington has taken leave of Surprise, Az. as of Thursday to attend to a family emergency.

According to Master Tesfatsion of ESPN Dallas, Washington’s brother-in-law passed away on Wednesday. The Rangers’ skipper will be at home in New Orleans with his wife for the next couple of days, and he is expected to rejoin the team on Saturday in Las Vegas, as the team opens up a weekend series with the Chicago Cubs.

Jackie Moore, the Rangers’ bench coach, will serve as the acting manager in Washington’s absence. Texas will play the Athletics this afternoon, and the Dodgers in Phoenix, on Friday.
