The Texas Rangers have signed free agent outfielder Jairo Beras.
This from the Rangers:
Beras, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound right-handed batter and thrower from San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, will not be permitted to participate in official games until July 1, 2013.
He may participate in workouts and practices in the interim.
