It looks like Neal Cotts will be back in Surprise, Az. with the Texas Rangers next spring.
Per Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News, the veteran lefty agreed to a minor league deal with the team on Wednesday. If he does make it to spring training with the Rangers for the second consecutive year, it will most likely be on a non-roster basis.
Cotts, who last made an appearance at the Major League level more than three years ago, spent the 2012 season as a member of Triple-A Round Rockβs bullpen. In 25 appearances with the Express, Cotts went 2-1 with a 4.55 ERA and 41 strikeouts.
As a former member of the White Sox and Cubs, Cotts has made 284 appearances in the big leagues.
