Rangers Hold On To LHP Neal Cotts

Cotts reportedly agreed to a minor league deal with the team on Wednesday

It looks like Neal Cotts will be back in Surprise, Az. with the Texas Rangers next spring.

Per Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News, the veteran lefty agreed to a minor league deal with the team on Wednesday. If he does make it to spring training with the Rangers for the second consecutive year, it will most likely be on a non-roster basis.

Cotts, who last made an appearance at the Major League level more than three years ago, spent the 2012 season as a member of Triple-A Round Rock’s bullpen. In 25 appearances with the Express, Cotts went 2-1 with a 4.55 ERA and 41 strikeouts.

As a former member of the White Sox and Cubs, Cotts has made 284 appearances in the big leagues.
