Potential Targets: Ubaldo Jimenez

Target: Ubaldo Jimenez, RHP

2013 stats: 13-9, 3.30 ERA, 182 2/3 innings, 194 strikeouts, 80 walks for Cleveland Indians

Ubaldo Jimenez fits what the Texas Rangers need, ideally, more than guys like Bronson Arroyo and Jerome Williams, who were recently featured here. Jimenez is a guy that has been very good before and bounced back from a rough few years to have another really solid season in 2013 with the Indians, in what, of course, was a contract year. He's still relatively young at 29 and is a strikeout pitcher who has stuff that can get you out even when he's not on top of his game.

With Yu Darvish really being the only Rangers starter without question marks heading into 2014, they could use another guy that could be a solid No. 2 or a really good No. 3, and Jimenez would seem to fit that mold. But then again, last season was his first since 2010 with a sub-4.40 ERA. That's a bit scary.
