Potential Targets: Chris Capuano

Target: Chris Capuano, LHP

Type of move: Trade

2012 stats: 12-12, 3.72 ERA, 198 1/3 innings, league-leading 33 starts, 162 Ks, 54 walks

The Dodgers pitcher is in a position to be dealt considering the pitching-rich Dodgers depth in the rotation. One former Dodgers starter is already on the Rangers in Derek Lowe, and now they could make it another with Capuano, who looked great in a Triple-A game in front of Rangers scouts, according to Jamey Newberg.

Capuano has struggled through the spring in Dodgers' camp, giving up 12 earned runs in 15 innings but with a solid K:walk ratio of 14:3. He's also struggled with the long ball this spring, giving up five home runs.

With the No. 5 starter job still apparently open between Nick Tepesch, Michael Kirkman and even Lowe, no prospect really sounds great to think about, but how much better would Capuano sound? That's something the Rangers' brass needs to decide pretty quickly.
