2012 stats: Split between Houston and Toronto, Lyon put up a 3.10 ERA in 61 innings with 63 strikeouts and 20 walks and a 1.25 WHIP.
Lyon is a seasoned veteran at 33 years old and with 11 years of service under his belt, and he's even been a closer three times in his career, and a fairly successful one at that. You know he has that closer's edge that is hard to come by even though his days of closing games are behind him. But then again, the Rangers don't want him as a closer, but more of a situational guy in the seventh inning, maybe replacing Alexi Ogando, who is setting up to move to the starting rotation.
