2013 stats: .277 batting average, .336 on-base percentage, 23 homers, 80 RBIs for Seattle Mariners
Morales is an interesting case as a professional, proven hitter who's still out there on the free agent market as a Scott Boras client who declined a qualifying offer from the Seattle Mariners in the off-season after a good year in Seattle on a one-year deal in 2013.
Morales can play first base, but you certainly don't want him there. That makes him pretty much a DH or nothing candidate, and the Rangers aren't in tremendous need of that. But with that said, the Rangers are in need of a productive bat, and Morales would give them that.
He's been linked to several teams, and the Rangers have been one recently.
