It's always fun to look at Vegas when preseason baseball odds come out. Now, that time has come as the intial odds have been released in regards to who will win the 2014 World Series.
The odds say the two favorites are the loaded Los Angeles Dodgers and the loaded Detroit Tigers — no surprise there. In the National League behind the Dodgers are: St. Louis, Washington and Atlanta. In the American League behind the Tigers are: Boston, the Yankees and then a big gaggle of teams, including Tampa Bay, Oakland, the Angels and the Rangers — in other words, the AL West, like we expect, should be quite the dogfight.
Soon, the over/under win totals should come out for every team, and that's where it really gets fun. I'd peg the Rangers right around 90 wins this year, as they and the Rays are the only teams in baseball to have gotten to 90 wins in each of the past four seasons.
