Mazara Claims Second Straight Rookie Award

There's no secret that if there was a front runner for AL Rookie of the Year honors through the season's first two months, it'd be Rangers outfielder Nomar Mazara.

And really, the proof is in the pudding.

Mazara claimed his second straight AL Rookie of the Month award on Thursday, claiming the May honor a month after getting the April nod for the season's first month.

The 21-year-old right fielder hit .283/.319/.491 with seven home runs and 17 RBIs in his 27 May games after bursting onto the scene in April. He had 11 multi-hit games in the month.
