Martin Day-to-Day After Collision With Murphy

Texas Rangers outfielder Leonys Martin is listed day-to-day after spraining his right ankle during Saturday night's game against the Chicago White Sox.

Though he received treatment prior to Sunday's game, Martin, who had a slight limp, was held out of the lineup.

Martin, 25, was injured during the ninth inning of Saturday's game against the White Sox in a collision with left fielder David Murphy. Martin called off Murphy as both charged Paul Konerko's fly to center, but Murphy kept pursuing and made the catch.

When he hit the ground, Martin grabbed his ankle and was quickly pulled from the game.   X-rays taken showed no sign of structural damage.

Martin has played in 115 of Texas' 129 games going into Sunday. He is hitting .271 for the Rangers with six HRs and 31 RBIs.

It is not clear when Martin will return to the lineup.
