Holland Looking to Join Club

When Derek Holland takes the mound on Tuesday night in Seattle, he'll be looking to join a club among his rotation mates that really isn't all that exclusive. In fact, he's the lone outlier.

In the Rangers' eight games this year, the starting pitcher has registered a quality start seven times. The one exception? You guessed it, that was Holland's season debut on Thursday in Anaheim. In that game, he allowed three runs in five innings — one inning shy of qualifying for a quality start.

If there were ever a place for him to join that club, it'd be Seattle, where Holland is a career 3-1 with a 2.29 ERA in five starts, including one complete-game shutout.

Holland will oppose Wade Miley, who the Rangers hit hard last week before their bullpen collapsed and gave away a game to the Mariners thanks to a five-run ninth inning.
