Holland Facing Favorite Opponent

Growing up in Ohio, Texas Rangers starting pitcher Derek Holland should have plenty of motivation when he goes up against the Cleveland Indians, and judging by his career numbers against the Tribe, he has plenty of it.

The Rangers starter, who seems to have turned a corner this year with a 2.82 ERA and a 5-2 record through 12 starts, has a better ERA against the Indians than against any other opponent with more than one start against them.

In his six starts against Cleveland, Holland is 3-0 with a 2.31 ERA and one complete-game shutout, sporting an opponent batting average of .236.

Holland has made a habit this season out of working deep into games, goin at least into the seventh inning in eight of his 12 starts this season, and judging by the past, there's a pretty solid chance that happens again, as he's averaged 6 2/3 innings in his starts against the Indians.
