Hamilton Scratched With Sore Knee

Josh Hamilton was penciled in to start Wednesday night's game for the Texas Rangers, but just a couple of hours before first pitch, he was scratched.

Hamilton went 1-for-3 on Tuesday night, generating a large part of the Rangers' meager offense that night and was set to hit fifth on Wednesday before complaining of a sore knee.

The Rangers ordered an MRI for Friday -- GM Jon Daniels said he doesn't think Hamilton has a "major" issue.

Hamilton is considered day-to-day, and was out of the lineup again for Thursday's afternoon game against Ervin Santana — another right-handed pitcher he'd definitely start against.

Hamilton had missed just two games since the All-Star break before sitting out on Wednesday but has dealt with groin and hamstring issues this year and has already spent one stint on the disabled list since rejoining the Rangers.
