Gallo Healthy and Ready to Roll

Joey Gallo was never going to save the Texas Rangers in 2015, but there is still a ton of excitement about the slugging prodigy who has been paired in baseball junkies' minds with Cubs slugger Kris Bryant for years now.

Of course, Bryant is currently playing for the Cubs and batting .351 with nine RBIs in his first 10 big-league games. And all the while, Gallo was still waiting to make his 2015 debut in Frisco.

The Rangers' prospect finally did that over the weekend and went 4-for-11 with a double, triple and two RBIs during his first three games.

The big thing to watch for with Gallo is his strikeout rate, which has suffered with each promotion throughout his pro career. If he can dominate Double-A pitching early on, he'll be in Triple-A soon to get a test run at that level.

The hope from a smart baseball standpoint would be that Gallo doesn't see Arlington until September this year, but stay tuned because if he does really well and the Rangers are still starving for offense they might not have a choice but to give the kid a shot.
