Yovani Gallardo was on quite a run heading into Tuesday night's start in San Diego, having put up two straight outings of zeroes on the scoreboard and getting through the sixth inning with no runs allowed against the best offense in baseball last week against Toronto.

On Tuesday, however, things turned sour for Gallardo against the Padres in a pitcher-friendly park he's pitched well in over his career as a National Leaguer with the Brewers.

Gallardo gave up four runs in five innings of work while allowing six hits, lasting 93 pitches and continuing his season-long trend of being inefficient, even when he's been at his best.

Gallardo got a no-decision when his offense had put him in position to pick up his 12th win of the season. He wasn't terrible, but he was barely average and it ended a pretty nice run for Gallardo, who was fantastic in five August starts.

He's probably the Rangers' No. 3 starter in a playoff series, so they need him to get back on track pretty quickly and finish the year like he was last month.
