Daniels: Frisco is Absolutely Loaded

While he was watching his team squander away another loss with an embarrassing score line, Texas Rangers general manager joined the Rangers' telecast on Fox Sports Southwest on Wednesday night, talking with Tom Grieve and Steve Busby.

While it's clear this season was lost a while back, Daniels gave Rangers fans something to be excited about when he began talking about what's going on about an hour up TX-121 from Globe Life Park in Frisco.

Daniels said the RoughRiders might just have the most talented squad in all of minor-league baseball, and he might be right, though the Triple-A Iowa Cubs might have something to say about that but lost Javier Baez to a big-league call-up recently.

The Frisco roster is loaded with names that have been quite familiar for a while to those who follow the Rangers' system, most notably top prospects Joey Gallo and Jorge Alfaro, as well as recent call-up Nomar Mazara, who is the youngest player in the entire Texas League and hit his first Double-A home run the other night.

Add in pitchers Alex "Chi-Chi" Gonzalez and recently acquired Jake Thompson, and Daniels might be on to something.

With just a couple of weeks left in their season, now is the time to go out to Frisco as it might be the most talented roster they've ever fielded.
