Choo Gets Injection to Speed Recovery

When Shin-Soo Choo suffered a calf strain on Saturday night prior to the Rangers' game against the Angels, it was obviously a pretty grave concern right away.

Now, we know the end result.

An MRI showed a strain that will keep Choo out of action for 4-6 weeks, but on Monday he received a platelet-rich plasma injection into his calf to try to help expedite the recovery process.

The Rangers have said his timetable for return is still 4-6 weeks, but hopefully he can be closer to the four weeks than the six weeks, and the injection will help matters.

When the Rangers were at their best in 2015, it was when Choo was raking. While Nomar Mazara is exciting and off to a scorching start after two games in the bigs, the Rangers definitely would love to have Choo back in the lineup.
