Bonilla Looking for Control in Final Start

Beginning on Wednesday, every starting pitcher that takes the hill for the Texas Rangers will be making their final start of the season.

The first in line is Wednesday night's starter Lisalverto Bonilla, who will take the hill for the series finale against the Houston Astros before the Rangers begin their final series of the year on Thursday in Arlington against the clawing-for-their-lives Oakland A's.

Bonilla will be making his third straight start — his third of the season — after picking up wins in his first two big-league starts. He's been what you might call "effectively wild" in those outings, allowing minimal hits, but also giving up four walks in each of those two outings.

Bonilla has a lively arm, and though he's likely not a guy who could be considered for a 2015 rotation spot, he's young and promising, and he's fared well in his first two starts. He'll look to exhibit a little better control on Wednesday night, because when he throws strikes he's been tough to hit, so far.
