The Toronto Blue Jays are clearly all-in on a playoff berth this year, which was evident when they were big movers at the trade deadline, picking up both an ace pitcher (David Price) and yet another big bat (Troy Tulowitzki).
Tulowitzki hasn't been a monster for the Blue Jays, but even without that factor, the Blue Jays' offense is something to fear.
It all starts with former Oakland A's third baseman Josh Donaldson, who was surprisingly traded to Toronto this past winter and has put together an MVP-caliber season, as he leads the league in both runs scored and RBIs. He's also hitting above .300 and has 34 home runs.
In all of baseball, the Blue Jays lead everyone in several statistical categories such as on-base percentage, OPS, RBIs, runs scored and they're second only to Houston in home runs. Edwin Encarnacion has 24 homers with 74 RBIs and Jose Bautista is sitting at 29 bombs and 85 RBIs.
From top to bottom, the Blue Jays' lineup is solid and there isn't a break for the opposing pitcher, especially since they acquired Ben Revere, who has been playing well in the No. 9 spot since joining the team from the Phillies.
This offense is very real, and Rangers fans will get a first-hand glimpse of it this week as they try to avoid having to meet up with the Blue Jays early in the postseason, if they're lucky enough to get that far.
