Banister on Beltre: I Want His Blood

The superlatives reserved for Adrian Beltre around here should be endless. He's give so much to the Rangers organization that he's quickly vaulted his way into Rangers royalty with guys like Nolan Ryan and Pudge Rodriguez.

Rangers skipper Jeff Banister just completed his first season with the Rangers' veteran third baseman, and I think it's safe to say Banister is sold.

In a visit with 105.3 The Fan this week, Banister gushed and gushed about Beltre, not only for what he brings in talent, but also heart and leadership.

In fact, Banister is so impressed by Beltre's toughness that he's gone as far as to say he would want Beltre's blood injected into his body if he ever had an injury. No, for real.

"Toughest human being I've ever been around in my life," Banister told the radio station. "Hall of Famer. I'll keep going — captain, leader, best human being I've ever been around. Really. This cat here, if I ever have an injury, and I need a PRP, I want his blood. Take mine out and give me his."

I mean, the man has a point. If I needed a platelet-rich plasma injection, I'd consider it. Wonder if Dez Bryant did?
