After Two Eggs, Rangers Need Stop Bleeding

After losing two games by a combined score of 21-8 behind poor pitching performances from Colby Lewis and Matt Harrison, the Rangers are desperate to stop the bleeding on Wednesday night after already losing a brief three-game homestand to the Detroit Tigers.

Now is the chance for the Rangers hottest pitching star this year, and definitely the most surprising star this year, Alexi Ogando to officially establish himself as this team's ace.

On the season, Ogando is 6-0 with a 2.20 ERA and has gone at least six innings in 11 straight starts. He already has one win over the Tigers this season back on April 11, the day before Josh Hamilton broke his arm, when he went 7 innings and gave up just two hits to help the Rangers improve to 9-1.

Now, he's facing a red hot Tigers team, who now is the hottest team in all of baseball, going 8-2 over their last 10 games. They are the only team with a better 10-game mark than the Rangers, who are at 7-3 and are on the verge of sweeping the Rangers.

It's an ace's job to stop that from happening, and with a lights out performance tonight, Ogando can establish himself solidly as the best pitcher on what has turned out to be a great staff.
