A Look At Baseball's Worst Contracts

The fine folks at Grantland, specifically everyone's favorite Canuck Jonah Keri, did a detailed list of the worst contracts in baseball currently going, and while the Rangers weren't completely absent on the list, they're in really good shape.

First of all, there are a whopping five former Rangers on the list (Adrian Gonzalez, John Danks, Josh Hamilton, Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez), which is pretty comforting considering someone else is giving those guys money other than the Rangers.

There is one current Rangers player on the list, as Prince Fielder checked in at No. 14, but there's a bit of a caveat in that he wasn't signed by the Rangers, but instead dealt for and the Detroit Tigers are paying $30 million of his remaining salary.

There's also some silver lining in that Fielder is still on the right side of age 30 and he's coming to a hitter's paradise in Arlington and could easily be a lock for 35-40 home runs with the right-field porch tailor made for his left-handed uppercut swing.

Check out the full list here, and rejoice that you aren't an Angels fan, or a Yankees fan, or a Dodgers fan — oh who are we kidding, the Dodgers have enough money to where it doesn't matter.
