Katharine Hepburn's Long-time Estate for $28M

The Wall Street Journal reports that the long-time Connecticut home of screen legend Katharine Hepburn is now on the market for $28 million.

The current owners Barbara and Frank Sciame, the chief executive of F.J. Sciame Construction, bought the 3.5-acre property in 2004 for $6 million with the intent to renovate the estate and flip it back onto the market. While Sciame did renovate the 8,300-square-foot home, he reportedly "fell in love with it" and has spent many summers in the abode where Hepburn lived until her death in 2003.

The property, which was in the Hepburn family from 1913 on, features a expansive house with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.  After Sciame bought the property in 2004, he divided it into three parcels, which are now available to buy together or separate. The largest of the three plots , priced at $18 million, includes the main house and a private dock situated along 680 feet of waterfront on Long Island Sound.
