Witten Miffed By Pass Interference Call

Jason Witten was called for offensive pass interference on the Cowboys’ final drive on Sunday night, a call that wiped a 22-yard reception by Miles Austin off the books. Witten was just beginning his route on the play, when he bumped into the Jets’ Antonio Cromartie, drawing the flag.

After the game, the usually reserved Witten expressed his displeasure over the call, albeit in a pretty reserved manner.

“That’s my route, that’s not a pick route,” Witten said, per ESPN Dallas. “That’s not the design of the play. I don’t know. I probably need to bite my tongue right now. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Quarterback Tony Romo wasn’t happy with the call, either.

“Jason’s trying to get into his route and they end up hitting him,” Romo said. “It was disappointing to see that called because that was a tough one.”
