Wilcox Has Sprained Knee, Likely Out Against Detroit

J.J. Wilcox suffered a sprained knee in practice on Thursday

Rookie safety J.J. Wilcox will most likely be held out of Sunday’s match-up with the Lions in Detroit after suffering a knee injury in practice on Thursday, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Wilcox left practice after going down, and had an MRI on the knee. That MRI revealed that he had a sprain that’s apparently bad enough to keep him out of action for awhile.

Wilcox has been starting since Week 3, when he won the job for good over veteran Will Allen. On the season, he has 25 tackles and a pass defended.

Rookie Jeff Heath will probably take Wilcox’s spot Sunday against the Lions.
