Who's Afraid of Beanie Wells?

Wells is coming off a franchise record-setting performance against St. Louis

The Arizona Cardinals’ Beanie Wells set a franchise record last week against the St. Louis Rams by rushing for 228 yards--so, coming off such a performance, the Dallas Cowboys are understandably prepared to see plenty of Wells this Sunday when the teams meet in the desert.

“Guys play well,” said defensive end Marcus Spears, per ESPN Dallas. “If you don’t have an answer for them, they’ll hurt you. We’re not immune to that if we don’t go out there and prepare to play. Obviously, it makes you pay attention, because if I was a coach and I ran for 250 one week, I’d probably try to run it the next week.”

The Cowboys aren’t exactly intimidated by the gaudy numbers put up by Wells last week; the Dallas defense currently ranks 10th in the NFL in terms of run defense, where the Rams are ranked dead last, thanks in part to the 253 yards posted by DeMarco Murray (another franchise record) in week seven.

“I heard he ran the ball well,” Spears said, “but I watched DeMarco [Murray] run for 250-something on that same defense.”
