Welker Admits To Having Amazing Stats

When Wes Welker says that his stats are crazy, he’s not boasting. He’s just stating an abundantly obvious fact.

Through five games in 2011, Welker has 45 catches for 740 yards and five touchdowns. This is a season’s worth of production for some receivers, but there’s been no suggestion that Welker, Tom Brady’s go-to receiver, is going to slow down any time soon.

But for now, Welker can only look at his stats in a sort of amused amazement--and even leading into the Cowboys’ week six match-up with the Patriots, we can’t really blame the guy.

"I don't think you can really look at them and not think this is a little bit crazy," Welker said on Wednesday, per the Dallas Morning News. "But at the same time I try not to really think about it. (I) just try to get open and catch the ball and play for my team."
