Weeden Suffers Concussion in Loss to 49ers

Brandon Weeden played three series on Sunday night before leaving the game with a concussion

Cowboys backup quarterback Brandon Weeden didn’t have a great Sunday night.

Weeden came into the game after Tony Romo’s lone, forgettable series, and went 2 of 5  passing over three series for seven yards. His night came to an abrupt end when he took a blow to the head while being sacked.

He seemed to be fine in talking to him afterwards,” head coach Jason Garrett told the team’s website afterward, “but we’ll see what the (team’s) medical people have to say.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones later confirmed that Weeden had suffered a concussion.

The Cowboys’ next preseason game is set for Saturday, when they will host the Minnesota Vikings at AT&T Stadium for the penultimate exhibition match-up of the year.
