Ware Gets Half-Credit For Sack Of Eagles' Nick Foles

DeMarcus Ware has now recorded at least a half-sack in each of the Cowboys last seven games

DeMarcus Ware’s streak of games with at least a partial sack grew to seven this week, after Elias Stats opted to give Ware half-credit for the strip-sack of Nick Foles in the fourth quarter of the Cowboys’ 38-23 victory over the Eagles in Philadelphia on Sunday. Anthony Spencer originally got full credit for the sack, after which Jason Hatcher fell on the ball to give Dallas their second defensive touchdown of the day.

The streak is alive,” Ware said, per ESPN Dallas, “but the thing is we’ve got to keep the streak of winning games.”

Ware made a show of half-jokingly asking for partial credit for the sack earlier in the week.

“Why wouldn’t he?” Spencer laughed back. “He was there. There’s no doubt about that. I told him there have been plenty of times that I was around and I didn’t get half.”

Ware now has 9.5 sacks on the year. With another half-sack, he will become just the fourth defender in NFL history to record seven consecutive seasons with a double-digit sack total. It’s worth noting that the three who have done it before Ware are all in the Hall of Fame.
