Ware Finishes With No Tackles

In a game that produced a good deal of dismaying statistics for Cowboys fans, the most shocking may be this: DeMarcus Ware finished Sunday’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars with no tackles. It was the first time in Ware’s career that he wasn’t credited with a tackle.

Indeed it is shocking, and almost unthinkable. Then again, that the Cowboys--a trendy Super Bowl pick from March to September--would be at 1-6 at this point was pretty unthinkable, too. Ware’s quiet day on Sunday was just the latest sign that this is not the Cowboys’ year.

Ware took responsibility for his absence from the box score afterward, saying that mistakes were to blame for his performance.

"It's like maybe a couple of mistakes and a bunch of mistakes," Ware said, per ESPN Dallas. "Mental mistakes. Mistakes on me on two foot plays. ... I didn't play my best game. A lot of times people should have made plays and they didn’t make plays."
