Ware Fine After Neck Injury Scare

A scary moment occurred late in last night’s 13-7 loss when All-Pro linebacker DeMarcus Ware went down with a neck injury in the fourth quarter, exiting the game and leaving Victor Butler to finish the defensive series. The play, which saw Ware lower his head and absorb a knee from an opposing player, conjured some memories of the neck injury he suffered against San Diego last season, but, according to Ware, it’s not nearly as serious.

That injury, described as a severe neck strain, almost caused Ware to miss a crucial December game against the Saints in New Orleans--instead, he played, and sealed the win with a strip sack on Drew Brees. Whether he’ll return with such heroics next week in the home opener against Chicago, we can’t know. But he will return.

"I'm good," Ware said after the loss, per the Dallas Morning News. "It's a stinger, a dinger, whatever you want to call it."
