Ware, Austin Say They'll Be Ready For Season Opener

OLB DeMarcus Ware and WR Miles Austin are dealing with hamstring injuries

Wide receiver Miles Austin will almost certainly remain on the sidelines for the duration of the Dallas Cowboys’ final preseason game against the Miami Dolphins Wednesday night at Cowboys Stadium, meaning that, for the second straight year, Austin will have missed the entire preseason with a nagging hamstring injury.

But if the former Pro Bowler has anything to say about it, he’ll be on the field a week from tonight, when the team opens up the regular season against the Super Bowl Champion Giants up in New York.

Asked on Tuesday if there was any doubt as to his availability for the opener, via the Dallas Morning News, Austin flatly responded, “No.”

Like Austin, outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware has been nursing a hamstring issue--and, like Austin, Ware doesn’t plan on being limited in any way against the Giants.

“I’ll be good [to go],” Ware said.
