Is Wade Phillips MIA From Valley Ranch?

For whatever it’s worth, which admittedly may not be turn out to be much, ESPN Dallas reported this morning that, as of 9 PM local time this morning, head coach Wade Phillips--or his car, anyway--was absent from Valley Ranch.

Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com has since Tweeted, however, that Phillips was at team headquarters after all, and only his car was missing, the result of him flying home on Jerry Jones’ private jet rather than the team’s chartered flight:

“Wade’s car isn’t here at valley ranch. Because it’s never here on Monday when he flies back with Jerry.Wade is in the building this morning.”

Speculation abounds as to whether Phillips will be fired, following an embarrassing, 45-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday night. Phillips denied to comment on his status after the loss, as did owner and general manager Jerry Jones. But Jones, who was quite visibly frustrated, vowed widespread “consequences.”

"There are a lot of people here who are certainly going to suffer and suffer consequences," Jones said after the game. "I'm talking about within the team, players, coaches, who have got careers. This is certainly a setback. I know first hand what it is to have high expectations."

Phillips has a press conference scheduled for four o’clock PM today.
