VP: Cowboys Expect to Make Playoffs

Stephen Jones says the Cowboys remain confident that they'll make the playoffs

Firmly in second place in the NFC East following an ugly Monday night loss to the Chicago Bears, the Cowboys are on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, at the moment. But executive vice president Stephen Jones still expects the team to earn a playoff berth, and he says he’s not the only one at Valley Ranch feeling this way.

We have expectations we make it,” Jones said, per the Dallas Morning News. “Our team has confidence. Our coaches have confidence. I know Jerry (Jones) and I have confidence that we’re going to do what we have to do and we’re going to get in these playoffs. Not only get in, but make a difference.”

Jones wouldn’t go so far as the guarantee a playoff berth, however, but he made clear that the Cowboys are feeling good about their chances going into Sunday’s match-up with the Packers at AT&T Stadium.

“I’m not a guarantee guy,” he said. “But I’m certainly a confident guy. I believe good things are going to happen to this team.”
