Uche Nwaneri Glad to be Home

The veteran offensive lineman grew up in Garland

For veteran offensive lineman Uche Nwaneri, signing with the Dallas Cowboys last week marked a homecoming.

Nwaneri is a native of Garland and attended Naaman Forest high school before departing the area to attend college at Purdue. In 2007, he was selected in the fifth round by the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he remained until March, when he was released.

In a discussion with Tom Ryle of BloggingTheBoys.com this week, Nwaneri said he was glad to be back.

Oh, yeah, definitely,” Nwaneri said. “You know, I'm from Dallas, obviously, I've got a lot of people that I knew in high school, plus my family still lives in the Dallas area, I've got cousins out there. It's gonna be good to kinda be home. We played there a few years back and that was great, a great experience for me. Now actually being at home playing for the hometown team, I think that's an added bonus.”
