Two More Fines For The Cowboys

The NFL handed down two more fines to Dallas Cowboys today, according to the Dallas Morning News, one of which was completely predictable; the other, not so much.

Flozell Adams was tagged for $7,500 for using his (and Cobra Kai's) increasingly publicized sweep-the-leg technique on Carolina's Julius Peppers, making it three fines for Flozell in three games.

Pretty impressive, to say the least, as far as being docked for illegal moves is concerned.

Felix Jones was also fined, for attempting a leg whip, though he didn't make contact with the defender on the play in question. Jones should have plenty of time to get to the bank, as he will be out for at least a week with a sprained PCL.

All told, Dallas has now been fined five times (by my count) in 2009--three for Flozell, and one each for Jones and Gerald Sensabaugh, who was banged for a horse-collar tackle in week one--through three games.

If you count Jerry's fine for discussing the collective bargaining agreement, breaking Roger Goodell's gag order, the number stands at six, which has to be some sort of record.
