Trio Of Alabama Defenders To Visit Valley Ranch

CB Dre Kirkpatrick, S Mark Barron and OLB Courtney Upshaw will all make pre-draft visits to Dallas

It was reported over two weeks ago that Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick would visit the Dallas Cowboys prior to the draft, and now, according to multiple sources in contact with ESPN Dallas, we learn that Kirkpatrick will be one of three Crimson Tide defenders to meet with the team in the coming weeks.

Safety Mark Barron (pictured) and outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw are the two that will join Kirkpatrick in making the trip to Valley Ranch, though this doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Each of the three is said to have drawn heavy interest from Dallas, and head coach Jason Garrett attended Alabama’s Pro Day following the owner’s meetings last week.

Each team is afforded a maximum of 30 of these national visits, which include face-to-face meetings, tours of team facilities and a medical checkup. It is worth noting that last season, in his first offseason as Cowboys’ head coach, Garrett visited the USC Pro Day, before selecting Trojans’ tackle Tyron Smith with the team’s first round pick.
