Top 5 Snow Games in NFL History

As I look out my window today, not sure if it we’re at Ice Force 1 or DefCon 1. And this mini-blizzard reminds me, of course, of … football.

4. Cardinals at Eagles, 1948 – Before the days of TV and mechanized equipment, this NFL Championship Game was delayed for an hour while workers – and players from both teams – finally dragged the snow-weighted tarp from the field.

3. Dolphins at Patriots, 1982 – Don Shula shivered in protest as New England won, 3-0, on John Smith’s field goal from a clear swath of field cleared by a convicted convict out of prison on a work-release program.

2. Dolphins at Cowboys, 1993 – Leon. Lett. Ugh.

1. Raiders at Patriots, 2002 – Tom Brady fumbled in the snow, but the Tuck Rule saved him and New England’s dramatic playoff win.
