The Picks: Cowboys at Seattle

It's not enough to say you're an enormous football fan and then just watch the games or play Fantasy Football every week. You've got to put a little skin in the game, dear readers, and make picks in public that open you up to being ridiculed if things don't go your way. Don't think about the downside, though. Think about the benefits you shall receive when your pigskin prognostications become the stuff of legend! Or just do it because all these other guys are doing it and you've got just as much chance of being right as they do.

Peter King (SI.com) - Cowboys 24, Seahawks 13. King, like anyone else who watched the Seahawks lose 20-16 to the Cardinals is looking left and right for the first exit off the Russell Wilson bandwagon. He looked much more like early NFL Doug Flutie than CFL Doug Flutie.

ESPN - Of the 14 people, algorithims, fan polls and Mike Ditkas surveyed, 12 of them like the Cowboys to go to 2-0. Cris Carter and Mark Schlereth are the two holdouts, which should actually fill Cowboys fans with confidence.

Mike Florio and Michael David Smith, Pro Football Talk - Cowboys 24, Seahawks 13 (Florio) Cowboys 21, Seahawks 6 (MDS)

Yahoo! Sports - Mike Silver had a tough choice as both teams share a color with his last name. He went with the Seahawks. Jason Cole, Les Carpenter and the public like the Cowboys.

Pete Prisco, CBSSports.com - Cowboys 27, Seahawks 20. Prisco likes that the Cowboys are well-rested but likely reserves the right to call them rusty if they struggle.

The rest of CBSSports.com - The other eight guys from the site are split right down the middle. About the game, not literally.

My Four-Year Old Son - Cowboys. "I just don't like the Seahawks." Why? "I'm not telling you."

Me - Playing in Seattle is never easy, particularly for a team that struggled with false starts on offense while playing in front of the wine-and-cheese crowd at MetLife Stadium. It's also a classic letdown game after an emotional start, although the distance from Week One could work in their favor. It's hard to see a way that the Seahawks offense we saw last week could put up enough points to really threaten the Cowboys. COWBOYS 20, SEAHAWKS 10 (Season record: 0-1)
