Texas S Kenny Vaccaro, A&M T Luke Joeckel Invited to NYC For NFL Draft

Joeckel is a native of Arlington and Vaccaro is from Brownwood

There will be at least a couple of Texans in New York City later this month for the NFL Draft, and one of them is a local kid.

That “local kid” is Luke Joeckel, a graduate of Arlington High School and a Texas A&M tackle who seems to have a good chance to become the first Aggie to ever be drafted first overall. Linebacker Von Miller came close two years ago, but went second overall to the Broncos after the Panthers went with Cam Newton with the top pick.

University of Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro will also be in the house for the draft, and he may be destined for Valley Ranch. Recent mock drafts still have Dallas attempting to address their offensive line in the first round, but if their best options in that area are gone at No. 18--which seems pretty likely at this point--a lot of folks are predicting that they’ll go after the Longhorns’ safety--another of the team’s clear needs.

Vaccaro is expected to be selected in the middle of the first round.
