TCU DE Stansly Maponga: Being a Cowboy “Would Be a Dream Come True”

Maponga is a native of Carrollton, Texas

A projected mid-round pick in this April’s NFL Draft, TCU defensive end and Carrollton native Stansly Maponga makes no secret of the fact that he’d love to stay close to home and wear the star of his hometown Cowboys in 2013.

"It would be a dream come true," Maponga said, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I'm a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, but who knows. We'll see."

Maponga, who stands at around 6-foot-2 and weighs in at 251, has already met with officials from the Cowboys at the Combine, and will reportedly come to North Texas to meet with defensive line coach Rod Marinelli between now and the draft. This meeting could come as part of Dallas Day, when a horde of local prospects descend upon Valley Ranch.

Then, there’s the hurt foot. Maponga suffered a foot injury last season that could require surgery, a decision that will be made after he meets with a specialist in the coming weeks.
