Sunday Marks Homecoming for Witten

Jason Witten grew up in Elizabethton, Tennessee

Cowboys tight end Jason Witten will return to his home state of Tennessee to face the Titans for just the second time in his career on Sunday.

It’s really kind of where the dream started for me,” Witten said, per ESPN Dallas. “A lot of people invested in me when they didn’t have to--a lot of family, coaches, high school and college. It played a special part in football in allowing me to get to this point. For them to be able to come and see those games, it’s always special. This will probably be the last time you play in Tennessee.”

Witten, a native of Elizabethton and a University of Tennessee product, set aside around 15 tickets for Sunday’s matchup. In his only other NFL game in his home state, in October of 2006, Witten had two receptions for 19 yards, and the Cowboys won in a rout, 45-14.
