Stephen Jones Sees McFadden Continuing to Play a Major Role in 2016

Darren McFadden went over 1,000 rushing yards for just the second time in his career this year

As it stands now, the Dallas Cowboys have designs on Darren McFadden continuing to play a major role in the offense in 2016, executive vice president Stephen Jones told 105.3-FM The Fan’s G-Bag Nation on Monday.

McFadden came to Dallas on a two-year deal last March, a day after DeMarco Murray signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, and it’s fair to say he exceeded the expectations of most. He won the starting job for good in the middle of the season and finished with 1,089 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 239 carries.

Maybe as importantly, he made it through the season healthy.

"Obviously he had a solid year for us," Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. "He's under contract. We think he'll be a big part of our plans next year and we'll continue to look for some other backs to go with him. Hopefully Lance Dunbar will come back healthy as well."
