Stephen Jones Says Murray Will Return In “A Couple Weeks”

DeMarco Murray has already missed four games with a foot injury

More than a month after a foot injury forced starting running back DeMarco Murray out of the lineup, the Dallas Cowboys are still playing the waiting game.

No one at Valley Ranch seems to have anything definitive to say about the second-year back out of Oklahoma as he rehabs the foot, which suffered some fairly extensive ligament damage in the Cowboys’ loss to the Ravens, but the team’s executive vice president Stephen Jones put his return at “a couple weeks” this week--which isn’t terribly specific, but is more specific than any other assessment we’ve heard.

“I think we are getting better, is the big thing,” Jones told 105.3-FM The Fan, via the Dallas Morning News. “I think we’re starting to protect the ball. I think turnovers are starting to come our way and I think we’re getting healthier. We’ll get DeMarco Murray back probably here in a couple weeks.”

Of course, that would mean that Murray will miss this week’s game against the Cleveland Browns at Cowboys Stadium and, perhaps, the Thanksgiving Day Game against the Washington Redskins.
