Stephen Jones' “Fingers Crossed” That DeMarco Murray Will Play Sunday

Murray returned to practice on Wednesday

There hasn’t been much in the way of news since DeMarco Murray went down with that foot injury in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens, with the team’s taking the official stance, “He’ll be ready when he’s ready.” According to Stephen Jones, that could be as early as this week’s match-up with the Eagles in Arlington.

“I think he’s got a real shot to play this Sunday and we’ll certainly keep our fingers crossed,” the Cowboys’ executive vice president told 105.3-FM “The Fan,” via the Dallas Morning News.

Head coach Jason Garrett said Wednesday that he expected Murray to participate in practice today and, sure enough, the Oklahoma product was on the field at least for the portion of practice that was open to the media.

“We anticipate him taking another step today,” Garrett said. “We’ll evaluate what that step is. He’ll do more football today than he’s done up to this point. We’ll see how he responds to that work.”
