Spencer Spending Bye Week Doing Charity Work, Eating “Fish Spaghetti”

Dallas Cowboys’ outside linebacker Anthony Spencer is planning on spending his bye week (a) doing charity work in his hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana and (b) eating home-cooked meals, courtesy of his mother. This sounds like a nice plan, of course, but asked his favorite home-cooked meal recently, Spencer’s response caused us to double-take just a bit.

"Actually I had some fish spaghetti last night. That's my favorite dish my mom makes," Spencer said, per the Dallas Morning News. "I've already had it, so I don't have to look for it. I have leftovers at home right now. I'm going to go get some."

Sounds interesting, but we won’t go so far as to criticize a man’s mother’s cooking--and aside from that, we kind of doubt that fish spaghetti could taste any worse than it sounds. Anyway, Spencer said he’s looking forward to returning to Indiana, not just for the fish spaghetti, but for the charity work he’ll be doing with some of Fort Wayne’s inner city youths, as well.

"I'm doing some charity work with the kids in the inner city of Fort Wayne. That should be a good time," Spencer said. "My mom sets it all up. I don't have to worry about it. I just have to go up there and smile."
