Smith, Witten Named to All-Fundamentals Team

Tyron Smith and Jason Witten were honored by USA Football this week for jobs well done

USA Football has unveiled their 2013 All-Fundamentals team and two Dallas Cowboys, left tackle Tyron Smith and veteran tight end Jason Witten, made the cut.

In his third NFL season, Smith hit his stride in earnest, earning a Pro Bowl nod, a second-team All-Pro selection and heaps of superlatives from seemingly every announcer to cover a Dallas game this year. USA Football specifically praised the USC product for his technique in pass protection, noting his โ€œActive handsโ€ and โ€œLow, strong center of gravity.โ€

For Witten, who is praised on the site for his technique as a pass catcher, this marks his second career All-Fundamentals team nod (the first coming back in 2010). In his 11th season in the league, Witten caught 73 passes for 851 yards and eight touchdowns.

Both men will receive $1,000 equipment grants to donate to the school or youth team of their choice. You can vote for the captains of the All-Fundamentals at the USA Football website here, and those voted captains will receive an additional $3,000 in grant money.
